Holy Daughters

January 14th to January 23rd, 2011

For the ‘Holy Daughters’ exhibition, the artist Prune Nourry has chosen milk, symbol of nourishment, as the central theme. She compares the Indian holy cow – sacred for its milk, a symbol of fertility – with the female condition in India. She creates hybrid sculptures of young women’s bodies with heifer heads – anthropomorphic models in bronze that she exposed in the streets of New Delhi for an in situ artistic event. A series of photos and videos relive the moment.
